RECORDING FRAMEWORK

Recording at Capellen operates within a unified production structure designed for complex orchestral and choral work. Sessions are not treated as isolated services, but as part of a broader artistic and logistical framework where preparation, leadership and execution move as one.

Each project is approached individually —
balancing artistic intent, technical clarity and production efficiency within a single coordinated environment.

PRODUCTION CONTEXT

Capellen Orchestra & Choir operate as a boutique orchestral production house. The focus is not on standardized sessions, but on shaping each project around its artistic and production requirements.

Ensembles are assembled from leading musicians, concertmasters, principal players and elite vocalists drawn from Czech and international orchestras and choirs. This structure allows flexibility while maintaining consistency in sound, discipline and workflow.

Sessions are designed to integrate seamlessly into larger production pipelines — from film scoring to live performance recording and hybrid projects.

SESSION ENVIRONMENT

Recording sessions vary depending on ensemble size, orchestration density and musical complexity. Rather than fixed templates, sessions are structured to maintain clarity, focus and efficiency.

Typical considerations include:

  • Smaller ensemble sessions offer detailed control and higher musical precision

  • Larger orchestral sessions prioritize continuity, balance and coordinated performance energy

  • Preparation standards are adjusted according to score complexity and production timelines

The goal is always to support artistic direction while maintaining a controlled and reliable production environment.

MATERIAL PREPARATION

All sessions operate on the basis of prepared orchestral material. Scores and parts are expected to be performance-ready prior to recording.

Prepared material typically includes:

  • Fully orchestrated scores aligned with session structure

  • Professionally prepared parts with consistent formatting and clear notation

  • Coordination between orchestration, copying and rehearsal planning

Capellen can assist with orchestration, arrangement and score preparation when required, ensuring continuity between creative intent and practical execution.

Instrument rental fees are not included in base session pricing and are quoted separately based on project requirements, availability, and logistics.

ADDITIONAL PREPARATION

The preparation scope listed for each session type represents the included maximum.

Preparation beyond this scope (for example, extended orchestration, additional alternate cues, or expanded safety material) is quoted separately upon request.

This ensures proper allocation of time and resources while maintaining session efficiency and quality.

Pricing structures are project-based and reflect ensemble size, preparation complexity and production scope. Rather than fixed packages, sessions are structured around artistic and logistical requirements.

  • Ensemble configuration

  • Preparation and orchestration needs
